In the past decade the golf industry has become more casual when it comes to what to wear on the course and as a spectator at a golf tournament. Outfits range from exercise gear to full on suit and tie and sundresses.

Because there are so many options, we will only be looking at a few styles that I believe you will feel the most comfortable in while sipping on cocktails and watching Tiger or Justin Rose sink their putts.

We will also go over the DON’Ts out there as well.

BEST STYLES TO WEAR AS A SPECTATOR AT A PGA or LPGA GOLF TOURNAMENT FROM OUR FAVORITE BRANDS

Sundresses – If you are lucky enough to have have wonderful weather of  70°F  or above bring out that cute sundress of yours. You may cross paths with a hottie.

Daily Sports – Tory Watermelon Dress

GG Blue – Nova Dress

Sunscreen – If you don’t want cancer or bad tan lines, remember  to wear sunscreen. Most tournaments have sunscreen sponsored all over the course, so use theirs or bring your own.

Clear or Small Purses –  With new sport regulations prohibiting large or non clear bags it’s a good idea to stay ahead of the game and bring a small or clear purse to the tournament. If you don’t follow these guidelines, you’ll have to check your purse at one of the gates, which can be a hassle when you’re on your way out.

WHAT TO WEAR IF YOU ARE IN A HOSPITALITY BOX OR CLUBHOUSE

Golf Attire

Work Attire

If you still don’t know, ask your host. They will know what’s appropriate for your ticket level.

WHAT NOT TO WEAR AS A SPECTATOR AT A PGA OR LPGA GOLF TOURNAMENT

Heels – you’re walking around on grass all day, you’ll ruin your stilettos out there. Wedges can be okay until you roll an ankle

Uncomfortable dress shoes for the guys – make sure you bring a change of shoes if coming from work. Dress shoes on the uneven ground can lead to awful blisters.

At golf spectating events you can walk up to 7 miles if you follow a group, not to mention your heels might get stuck in the grass.

So the moral to this story is wear what you feel comfortable in and what is appropriate for your ticket level. You never know, the outfit you wear could help you land a deal or help you meet your future husband.
